Prof. Y.R.K. Reddy
founded Yaga Consulting Pvt Ltd, in 1996 & later the
public trust, Academy
of Corporate Governance. His impacting work is in
Corporate Governance, Strategy and Strategic HRM.
He takes keen interest in public policy and charitable causes. He is a fortnightly Columnist for Financial Express, an Indian Business daily.
His work spans 25 countries in Directors' training, academics and consulting.
His writings include over 80 papers and six books, written and
edited published by Wiley Eastern, Tata McGrawHill, Vikas Publishing, and Spade Publications.
He has been a consultant, among others, to Commonwealth
Secretariat–London; CACG-New Zealand; ILO; ADB; The World Bank Group; GCGF-Washington; E & Y and a host of Corporations.
He was an independent Director for the steel major SAIL;
Info Tech Enterprises Ltd; Dynam Venture East and also Lumley Technology (of Australia) apart from the
Indian Institute of Economics. He is on the Advisory Board of Global Development Institute.
USA and Transecure Solutions and is an Associate of The Board Practice Ltd, Auckland.
He was earlier ONGC-Chair Professor of Strategy and Chairman of HR Area at Administrative Staff College of India which he served for over 13 years in two stints and also has been a corporate executive (GM / Vice President responsible for HR, Strategy, IT) for about 12 years in manufacturing and banking in two stints.
He is a Member of the OECD Asia Network for SOEs; Member of the Commonwealth Advisory Group on Corporate Governance in Finance Sector; Member of Advisory Group to the Eastern Caribbean Forum for Corporate Governance; Member of the Commonwealth team for review of the OECD Principles and has contributed to ICGN-London’s yearbook and conferences. He has authored the First Principles of Corporate Governance for Public Enterprises and has pioneered work in the field of corporate governance in banking and finance. He has also assisted the Government of India; Government of AP, RIAB-Kerala, Planning Commission, the Central Vigilance Commission, and the Reserve Bank of India as a member of committees and/or as an advisor/consultant at different points.
He has Masters degrees specializing in Personnel Management from Andhra University; Masters with an elective in Finance from the Leeds University, UK and a PhD on econometric analysis of Strike Activity from AU (with initial work in the UK and Germany).
He was a Visiting Fellow at Fredreich Ebert Stiftung-Bonn (1979) and Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics (1989).
